Skies Reports Record 2005 Performance
New Skies Satellites
Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:NSE), the global satellite communications company,
today reported financial results for the year ended December 31, 2005.
Revenues for the year were $240.5 million, up 14 percent over the prior
year, net loss was $1.4 million and Adjusted EBITDA(A) was $157.7 million,
up 31 percent over the same period in the prior year...

Alenia Space demonstrates the first emergency service based on EGNOS,
a precursor to Galileo
Alcatel Alenia
Space today announced that it will demonstrate the first emergency service
based on EGNOS, a precursor of Galileo, in Lisbon, Portugal, on March
3rd. The integrated end-to-end Location-Based Solution (LBS), designed
under the coordination of Alcatel Alenia Space, enables the Civil Security
forces and Fire Brigades to locate emergency calls from mobile phones
and efficiently guide the intervention team. Using EGNOS-enhanced accurate
positioning integrated with the telecom network and the emergency control
centre application, the service improves the speed and efficiency of the
rescue, increases the team safety and optimizes the resources needed for
overall incident management...

Alcatel Alenia Space to build and deliver
in-orbit Turksat 3A telecommunication satellite for Turksat AS
Alcatel Alenia
Space announced today that it has signed a turnkey contract with Turkish
operator Turksat AS, for the construction and the in-orbit delivery of a
new powerful telecommunication satellite, Turksat 3A. Alcatel Alenia Space
has been Turksat’s sole satellite provider with five satellites* awarded
in more than 10 years...
SES
Astra signs second contract with Globecast
SES ASTRA,
an SES GLOBAL company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG),
has signed a second capacity agreement with GlobeCast, an international
content management and delivery enterprise. The new transmission capacity
subcontracted by SES ASTRA at the orbital position 28.2°/ 28.5° East will
be used by GlobeCast to serve the UK and will support the development
of new services such as high-definition TV. The first contract with GlobeCast
on subcontracted capacity was signed last year...

digital TV platform starts first channel launches on W2
Serbia's new
pay-TV platform, Total TV has initiated first broadcasts on Eutelsat's
W2 satellite at 16 degrees East with the following channels: Art Serbia,
