Richard Strike, Business Development Manager, Ethernet, ADVA Optical Networking

Richard Strike joined ADVA Optical Networking in 2005 as a Senior Systems Consultant and plays a key role in assisting U.K. communications providers implement next-generation intelligent Ethernet access solutions. With over 15 years’ industry experience, Mr. Strike has been heavily involved in Ethernet’s evolution from a best-effort service to a carrier-class solution. This experience has proven vital for ADVA Optical Networking as it expands its U.K. customer base, which now includes BT 21CN and the deployment of all of BT’s Network Termination Equipment.

Prior to joining ADVA Optical Networking, Mr. Strike held positions across a number of fields, including research and development, product management, solutions marketing and business development. Mr Strike’s most recent roles included Product Manager for Ethernet over SDH with Nortel Networks and Principal Development Engineer with 3Com’s Ethernet switching division. Richard has also worked as an independent consultant advising established and start-up equipment and silicon vendors on the Metro Ethernet market.

Mr. Strike holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Durham.
