EdgeConneX®, specializing in global infrastructure at the edge of the network, announces today its chief technology officer, Don MacNeil, will speak at Metro Connect USA 2017. The company will also co-sponsor the event, which takes place January 31-February 1, 2017 at the Nobu Eden Roc Miami Beach Resort in Miami, FL.
On Tuesday, January 31 at 4 p.m., Mr. MacNeil will participate on the panel, “The Edge: The Importance of Becoming Local.” Mr. MacNeil will be joined on the panel by executives from Alpheus Communications, FiberLight, Global Capacity, NJFX and Schneider Electric. As metro fiber providers look to localize their services to reduce latency, this session will look at how cloud, data centers and content services are driving this shift. Mr. MacNeil and his industry colleagues will also discuss how virtualized systems such as SDN and NFV will impact the future of connectivity in metro markets.
“I look forward to sharing ideas with my esteemed fellow panelists and attendees at Metro Connect,” comments Mr. MacNeil. “EdgeConneX is committed to providing the most secure and lowest latency cloud options at the edge. As more and more enterprises migrate to the cloud, the soundness of their cloud connectivity strategy and the advent of new technologies such as SDN and NFV in the data center will have a profound effect on the success of their businesses, particularly in the metro market segment.”
