The SAT>IP Alliance, a non-profit organisation responsible for defining marketing and technology strategies related to the SAT>IP standard, will present its latest news and projects carried out over the last few months at ANGA COM, the broadband, cable and satellite exhibition and congress held in Cologne from today until June 1st.
Over the past year, the SAT>IP Alliance continued to work on enhancing the SAT>IP protocol including transcoding, and CAS (Conditional Access System) to DRM (Digital Rights Management) conversion.
Furthermore the group has announced that Irdeto and Verimatrix have joined the Alliance. Both companies will strengthen the group’s work in the area of content security.
During ANGA COM, the Alliance will hold an event during which it will present its latest news and developments.
“With the integration of CAS-to-DRM solutions into the SAT>IP standard we are making it much easier for Pay-TV operators to take live broadcast television content onto in-home IP networks”, said Thomas Wrede, President of the SAT>IP Alliance, “and we invite manufacturers of SAT>IP equipment to support our efforts and to join the Alliance.”
