Phasor to be a Featured Speaker at World Satellite Business Week’s SmartPlane Summit

Phasor, the pioneering developer of aeronautical electronically steered antenna (ESA) systems, will present at the second SmartPlane Summit on September 11, part of World Satellite Business Week at the Westin Hotel, Paris. The subject of connectivity is critical for airlines and business jet owners as they strive to meet rising connectivity demands of passengers, and the emergence of inflight telematics requirements.

The full day conference will comprise a series of thematic roundtables and keynote speeches from the most influential figures in the business. The event will bring together over 150 executive-level participants from the global IFEC ecosystem: commercial airlines, service providers, satellite operators, and equipment and aircraft manufacturers.

Phasor CEO, David Helfgott will participate on a panel session entitled ‘Exploring the Potential of the Connected Aircraft’. The panel will deliberate the benefits that connectivity brings to aircraft operations and the role played by service providers.

“IFEC is a rapidly evolving market, catalysed by the huge increase in mobility devices like smartphones, tablets and laptops, and the advent of new High Throughput Satellite (HTS) systems,” said David Helfgott, CEO, Phasor. “However, the key to unlocking this potential lies in the access technology. We are excited to be given this opportunity to showcase our unique approach”.

Existing wideband aviation antenna solutions are, heavy, bulky and not very aero-dynamic. They can also be very maintenance-intensive, prone to failure due to their mechanical steering systems, and difficult and costly to repair.

Phasor will discuss its enterprise grade, very low profile, conformal, electronically steered antenna (ESA) with characteristics that both meet and exceed the requirements of commercial airlines and business jet operators. This breakthrough technology will transform inflight communications, enabling wider adoption of broadband connectivity to more kinds of aircraft, and offering service providers and airlines the benefits of greater functionality, reliability and scalability.
