Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen upgrades to NSSLGlobal FusionIP

Independent satellite communications provider NSSLGlobal has today announced a new contract with German-based ship management company Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen (HLB) to boost satellite communications across the HLB fleet. The contract will see HLB’s legacy VSAT systems replaced with NSSLGlobal’s renowned FusionIP service to provide both VSAT and 3G/4G cellular connectivity in one single solution. HLB has been operating as a technical ship owner and manager for sea-going vessels since 1998. Based on a long family tradition, HLB successfully offers expert advice on all areas of ship management, technical management, crew management and training, dry-docking services, new building supervision, technical consultancy, insurance, commercial management as well as ISM, ISPS and MLC. Already an NSSLGlobal customer since 2016, HLB recognises the company’s value as a “one-stop-shop” for all its satellite communications needs. HLB turned to NSSLGlobal to replace the onboard communications systems on all of its existing maritime vessels with NSSLGlobal’s FusionIP service based on SAILOR 600.

Within one single 60cm SAILOR dome, FusionIP integrates the best of two worlds; LTE and satellite broadband, allowing ships to automatically switch between 4G/3G and satellite networks to achieve optimum data speeds and cost efficiency. FusionIP represents a leap forward in terms of convenience. With one antenna, a single system, and one point of contact for technical information, the FusionIP product/service is ideal for coastal commercial vessels, crew transfer vessels, offshore wind installation vessels, fishing vessels and yachts. Hermann Lohmann, Managing Director of Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen commented: “We turned to NSSLGlobal to fully manage the communications aboard our fleet because we were convinced that NSSLGlobal’s solution/concept and service were right for our fleet. We opted for the renowned FusionIP service due to its compact hardware and flexible airtime concept. The fact the product also combines satellite broadband with a 3G/4G system within the same device, to enable automatic transition between cellular and satellite broadband connections, allows us to stay fully connected to our shipping networks at all times. This was a key factor in our decision-making process.” “Our on-the-ground presence in the Haren Region and our German 24/7 Support Team played a pivotal role in securing this contract with Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen,” added Henrik Christensen, CEO, NSSLGlobal Continental Europe. “We expect this deal to lead to more opportunities as HLB’s fleet continues to flourish and we’re looking forward to continuing and growing this relationship.” For more information about NSSLGlobal’s new partnership with Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen please come and visit us at SMM 2018 in Hamburg. NSSLGlobal’s stand will be located in Hall B6, Stand 514.
