This year, SPACEBEL is celebrating its 30th birthday. Launched in 1988, this Belgian SME specializing in software engineering and Space systems employs about a hundred people spread over its multiple sites in Liège, Hoeilaart, Toulouse (France) and Warsaw (Poland). Throughout its existence, the company has built up a reputation for excellence in the realisation of infrastructure for the Space sector through its many contributions to some forty successful Space missions.
This jubilee year 2018 is also synonymous with growth and renovation for SPACEBEL.
After several months of work, the company is now the proud owner of 500 m² of ISO 5 & ISO 7 cleanrooms conform to Space sector standards. Mr. Thierry du Pré-Werson, Managing Director of SPACEBEL, explains: "These facilities are part of our "Space systems" strategy focusing on the commercialization of small Earth observation satellites. They represent a new string to our bow allowing SPACEBEL to realize its ambition, i.e. to become an integrator of satellite equipment sooner or later."
The brand new complex is also made available to other companies active in the Space industry.
This year, SPACEBEL has also started a major renovation project of the building acquired in 2016 that is housing the head office in the LIEGE Science Park. Mr. du Pré-Werson is delighted: "Thanks to the expansion and refurbishment of our offices, we will be able to offer our staff a more pleasant working environment and welcome in optimal conditions the future employees that we have to recruit in the coming months in order to sustain our development”.
