InfiNet Wireless showcase ground-breaking spectral efficiency solution to the African market at Afri
InfiNet Wireless, the global leader in fixed broadband wireless connectivity, will launch its record-breaking spectral efficiency solution to the African market for the first time at this year’s AfricaCom, to be held from November 13th to 15th.
On display at booth C5D, the brand new 5 GHz Point-to-Point (PTP) solution, named Quanta 5, addresses the increase in Internet of Things (IoT) applications as well as the rising number of connected devices requiring more reliable bandwidth. It also has been designed to offer the highest spectral efficiency available in today's wireless marketplace.
Quanta 5, the company’s latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology, is designed entirely by InfiNet's R&D teams and has the ability to eliminate interference in noisy radio environments whilst being able to deliver more Mb/s in less radio spectrum than ever before. This record-breaking solution is also able to operate in sub-zero temperatures as well as extremely hot conditions, ensuring at all times that the data is transmitted reliably and delivered across large distances.
“While internet connections across the continent have improved over the last few years, the actual infrastructure to keep delivering fast and reliable connections have simply not kept up the pace,” said Kamal Mokrani, Vice President at InfiNet Wireless. “Implementing the latest wireless infrastructures which can withstand ever-changing weather and environmental conditions will undoubtedly increase Africa’s share of global traffic, and ultimately drive more investment into the continent. Our latest solution, which we are introducing to this market for the first time in Cape Town, can meet these current challenges.”
Quanta 5 is ideal for the transmission of high-resolution video streams, the provision of Internet and Intranet access, as well as for backhauling all types of traffics, whether generated by a Wi-Fi access point or a service provider's 4G/LTE base station. This SDR solution has been designed with the user in mind as it’s easier than ever before to deploy and use, cost-effective and exceeds performance expectations.
InfiNet’s continued growth and expansion in the region was further evidenced when the company successfully deployed its solutions in Trésor Public, the Treasury of Gabon after it was experiencing major connectivity issues. It also recently delivered flexible wireless communications platforms to Zanlink in Tanzania, enabling it to deliver 4G connections for the first time.
Mokrani concluded: “We already have a significant presence in the African market, as evidenced by the number of successfully deployed projects in all corners of the continent. We are once again very pleased to be showcasing our latest technology to the African market. AfricaCom is the largest and most influential Africa-focused technology event so to share our latest development with visitors at this prestigious event reinforces our position as an industry leader within the global wireless market. We are fully committed to helping bridge the digital divide within the African continent and believe our solutions are paving the way to make this a true reality.”
