The Space Foundation commits to viral safety standards, postponing Space Symposium until August 2021

The Space Foundation is committed to a safe and successful environment for everyone that takes part of Space Symposium. Due to several factors beyond our control, the Space Foundation has made the decision to reconvene the world’s space community in Colorado Springs, CO next year, August 22-26, 2021 at The Broadmoor for the 36th Space Symposium. Due to the unprecedented conditions that have been part of the Coronavirus pandemic, including the resurgence of the virus in Colorado last month, the concerns of State health officials for the Fall, and the Governor’s recent mandate curtailing public activities and restricting meeting room occupancy to 100 people or fewer, we are unable to host our large scale event despite all our efforts with the Broadmoor to find ways that we could make it work. We also recognize that several companies have extended their travel restrictions until 2021, and that there is still an international travel ban in place. We anticipate that by August 2021, the current situation will have improved dramatically and that we will be able to hold the type of Space Foundation quality event that you have come to expect.

Current Exhibitors can roll-over their existing fees to the new dates. Please contact Rhonda Truett or Brittany Chraft at exhibitors@SpaceFoundation.org to confirm your company’s willingness to do so. Additional information and an updated contract will go out by the end of the month.

Current Registrants for the 36th Space Symposium have three options for consideration with their existing registration:

  1. Donate their registration to Space Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization in support of its education mission and receive a tax receipt/deduction;

  2. Roll their registration to the rescheduled 36th Space Symposium (August 22-26, 2021) and secure their spot at reduced registration rate; or,

  3. Request a refund, minus a $150 processing fee.

Please contact our Customer Relations at custserv@spacefoundation.org for any additional questions and details.

Current Sponsors will be contacted to discuss various options. For immediate information, please contact Roz Clark or Elizabeth Wagner at sponsorships@SpaceFoundation.org.

Hotels and third-party vendors must be contacted directly regarding cancellations and refunds.

While we will not gather in-person this year, Space Foundation’s mission, dedication and stewardship to the space community continue more fervently than ever before. It has always been the hallmark of Space Foundation to convene the global space community together for the inspiring dialogues and engagements that spur partnerships and opportunities. In the coming weeks, Space Foundation will be sharing details on a new initiative called, Space Symposium 365. This effort is specifically designed to extend the spirit and reach of the annual global gathering of the space community in Colorado Springs but do it in a year-round digital and engageable format. More detailed information about Space Symposium 365 will be available in the coming days. If you are interested in learning more about it, please let us know.

We appreciate your ongoing support as we make our way through these unprecedented circumstances.
