KRYTAR, Inc., a leader in the design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment announces the continued expansion of its line of dual-directional couplers with the addition of a new model offering 6 dB of Coupling over the broadband frequency range of 4 to 20 GHz (C through Ka-bands), in a single, compact and lightweight package.
KRYTAR’s new dual-directional coupler expands the family of superior performance products offering ultra-broadband coverage in compact packages. Model 504020006 is a multi-purpose, stripline design that exhibits excellent coupling over the 4.0 to 20.0 GHz frequency bands. KRYTAR coaxial dual-directional couplers are 4-port couplers that are the combination of two 3-port couplers having their main lines cascaded. This dual-directional design, two back-to-back couplers in the same package, lets you monitor forward and reflected power. It also assures good directivity, flatness, and coupling accuracy. Typical applications include power sampling and measurement, amplifier leveling, VSWR monitoring, field control, and amplifier and load protection.
KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many applications including warfare (EW) systems and commercial wireless including mmWave, 5G, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, and EMC testing environments.
Model 504020006 offers superior performance ratings including Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 6 dB, ±0.8 dB, and Frequency Sensitivity of ±0.5 dB. The dual-directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of less than 4.0 dB, Directivity of greater than 16 dB, Maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.35, Input Power Rating is 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional coupler comes with industry-standard SMA Female Connectors. The compact package measures just 2.90 inches (L) x 0.50 inches (W) x 0.75 inches (H), and weighs just 2.5 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° to 85° C. The dual-directional coupler can also be manufactured to meet ridged military specifications.
