Space Frontier Foundation brings 'Inclusive Innovation' DEI Program to SATELLITE 2022 Conference

The SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition is pleased to announce their partnership with the Space Frontier Foundation to launch “Inclusive Innovation” - a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program that will take place during the conference in March 2022. The program will include sessions and workshops designed to bring space professionals of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures together to share ideas on how to create more positive, inclusive work environments and more diversity among entrepreneurs.

"In the wake of recent discourse about inclusivity in the workplace, the Space Frontier Foundation is looking forward to partnering with SATELLITE 2022 to create a slate of programming centered on diversity and inclusion. Our programming will feature a collective of passionate advocates and allies engaging in constructive conversations. We hope attendees will walk away with actionable steps on how to make our industry more welcoming and inclusive so that they can go back to their workplace and begin to create the world we want to see." - Kim Macharia, Chair of the Board of Directors, Space Frontier Foundation.

This is the Space Frontier Foundation’s second diversity-oriented partnership with SATELLITE. In 2016, the organization helped SATELLITE launch the annual Startup Space entrepreneur pitch contest, which has since brought more than 80 new startup companies (including Astroscale, Astrapi, Ursa Space, OrbitFab, LeoLabs, and others) into the spotlight at one of the industry’s leading global events.

“I am honored that Kim and her team at Space Frontier Foundation chose to partner with us to launch Inclusive Innovation – a program that will clearly explain why our industry needs to invest in DEI in order to achieve its larger ambitions in space. Our community has spent many years trying to attract young talent and more women into the space industry, and while it has made progress during that time, there is still a lot of work to be done. I personally look forward to learning from and sharing this experience with our attendees,” said Jeffrey Hill, Chair, SATELLITE 2022.
