WTA certification program announces tier 3 certification of Horizon Teleports’ Munich Teleport

The World Teleport Association (WTA) today announced that Horizon Teleports has achieved Tier 3 certification of its Moosburg an der Isar (Munich) Teleport in Germany under its Teleport Certification Program.

The Moosburg an der Isar certification marks the 40th issued since the program was launched at IBC 2015, and another 12 teleports are currently engaged in the quality evaluation process. The program provides transparent, independently verified standards as a means for teleports to differentiate themselves and for customers to choose the price-performance level suitable for their applications.

Certification is issued on a Provisional (self-reported) basis after completion of a +170-item questionnaire that is evaluated against standards developed by WTA’s Certification Committee. The teleport then has six months to achieve Full Certification. To achieve Full Certification under WTA’s program, an auditor is dispatched to visit the teleport, provide independent validation of the data submitted in the questionnaire, and identify additional factors that may positively or negatively affect the score. Full Certification is issued at a Tier number from 1 through 4, of which 4 represents the highest degree of excellence, and remains in effect for 3 years.

Certifications have been issued to teleports operated by Azercosmos, Servicio Satelital, USEI, AXESS Networks, STN, Eutelsat, du, COMSAT, Elara Comunicaciones, GlobalSat, Talia, Telenor, Telespazio, Vivacom, Cyta, Batelco, Singtel, Etisalat, Hawaii Pacific Teleport, Intelsat, Speedcast, Telstra, Primacom, Santander Teleport and Arqiva.

Mostafa El Farouk, Managing Director of Horizon Teleports said, “We are truly honored to receive WTA’s Tier 3 Certification for the second time and would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to WTA for their support and to our clients and suppliers for their trust in Horizon Teleports. Horizon Teleports is committed to maintain its high-quality services exceeding customers’ satisfaction.”

“We welcome Horizon Teleports to the family of operators around the world who have achieved Full Certification of their facilities, technology and operating procedures,” said executive director Robert Bell. “Independent, standards-based evaluation and validation sets teleport operators apart and assures customers that they will receive the price-performance outcome they expect.”
