ABS is a young and fast growing global satellite operator, with an entrepreneurial and creative business approach.  Headquartered in Bermuda, ABS has offices in the United States, UAE, South Africa, Germany, Philippines, Indonesia and Hong Kong.

ABS is majority owned by the Permira funds which are advised by European Private Equity firm Permira. The Permira funds acquired ABS in 2010.

ABS offers a complete range of End-to-End solutions including Direct to Home (DTH), Cable TV distribution (CATV), Cellular Backhaul, VSAT and Internet Backbone services with diverse IP transit through its European, Middle East and Asian internet gateways.

ABS operates a fleet of satellites serving 93% of the world.

APT Satellite Company Limited (“APT Satellite” or “APSTAR”) is a leading satellite operator in Asia Pacific region. APSTAR commenced its operation in 1992. We currently own and operate five in-orbit satellites: APSTAR-5, APSTAR-6, APSTAR-7, APSTAR-7B (partial), APSTAR-9 satellite (“APSTAR Satellite Fleet”), covering regions in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and Pacific island which contain approximately 75% of the World’s population. Operating a growing fleet of owned satellites at the 20°E, 26°E, 30.5°E, 39°E and 44.5°E positions of the geostationary orbit controlled by, Arabsat is the only satellite operator in the MENA region offering the full spectrum of broadcast, telecommunications and broadband services. This capacity will continue to expand with the launch of Arabsat’s new 6th generation satellites, making the Arabsat satellite fleet the youngest in the region.

Avanti is the first mover in high throughput satellite data communications in EMEA. It has rights to orbital slots and Ka-band spectrum in perpetuity that covers an end market of over 1.7bn people.

The Group has invested $1.2bn in a network that incorporates satellites, ground stations, datacentres and a fibre ring. Avanti has a unique Cloud based customer interface that is protected by patented technology. The Group has three satellites in orbit and a further two fully funded satellites under construction.

Azercosmos was established in 2010 by the government of Azerbaijan and is the first and only satellite operator in the Caucasus. Azercosmos has achieved to date a reputation as a reliable regional satellite operator, providing customers in commercial and government markets with high-quality, secure and customized broadcast and broadband solutions. Azercosmos provides services across Europe, Africa, Middle East and Central Asia via Azerspace-1 at 46°E, equipped with C-band and Ku-band transponders. In 2014, the company launched Azersky, a high resolution optical Earth observation satellite and thus entered the commercial business of Earth observation services, including Geo-Information services. Azercosmos plans to enhance the coverage area and spectrum of services in 2017 by launching a second telecommunications satellite - Azerspace-2 at 45° E - to cover Europe, Central and South Asia, Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Operated by state-owned Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Ltd (BCSCL), Bangabanhu-1 is widely-expected to help bridge the digital divide across the country. With 40 Ku-band and C-band transponders and 1,600MHz of capacity, the satellite will provide coverage over the Bay of Bengal, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Philippine and Indonesia, as well as the entire of Bangladesh. According to reports, Bangabanhu-1 will aid economic growth, increase remittances, expand connectivity with newly-launched 4G technologies, deliver more TV channels, and support stronger networks. Policy-makers hope to address the global trend towards increasingly digitalised education by providing an e-library with Bangladesh Open University and improving distance-learning programmes.

Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT) is a unique operator of broadcasting satellites in 12GHz BSS band in Japan. The company was established in April 1993 and is located in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, B-SAT has worked towards providing stable satellite operations and continuity of broadcast services. B-SAT currently owns and manages three satellites: BSAT-3a, BSAT-3b and BSAT-3c for digital broadcast services. In addition, B-SAT provides Japanese broadcasters with uplink services for conveying digital broadcast programs to satellites.
