KSF Space Foundation is making history in MENA region

January 9, 2018

For the first time in the Arab world and MENA region, the International Space Station (ISS) held a teleconference with Moroccan students of Morocco’s National School of Computer Science and Systems Analysis ENSIAS

In collaboration between KSF Space & NASA, through the first of its kind contact, the International Space Station (ISS) on-orbit crew touched leading life on board the ISS and space industry. The school community, including the students, teachers, families and community members were learned by the ISS on the substantial profit of human spaceflight and the exploration and discovery that occur on spaceflight journeys.

Some of international press agencies, cross MENA and EU (Agencia EFE from Spain, La MAP, UAE, USA Broadcasting TV Al Horra, Le economist and much more) were on site for press coverage.

Dr Kayyali, Chairman of KSF Space mentioned “With such initiative, KSF Space Foundation will be approaching tremendous channels with education sectors and universities cross MENA region to promote small satellites program and space research”

The teleconference, broadcasted live on the KSF Space’s social networks, took place in the presence of Chiarman of KSF Space, Dr Kayyali Mohamed.

The event comes a month after Morocco launched its first satellite, Mohammed VI-A, in November 8 launched by Vega Space craft. This significant event made the kingdom the third African country with a reconnaissance satellite after Egypt and South Africa. The Moroccan satellite will be dedicated to Earth observation and will be able to map and take high-resolution images in any weather, night and day. Images collected by the satellite will help Morocco polish its green policies, in line with the country’s commitments to the fight against climate change and environmental protection.
