New WTA report reveals teleport service pricing holds steady despite falling prices for capacity

The World Teleport Association (WTA) today released Inside the Top Operators of 2017, a new research report exploring the Top Operators rankings published by WTA in January.

Key findings in the report include that:

  • Growth is paused for independent operators after three years of growth

  • Pricing for teleport services holds its own while capacity prices fall

  • Competition keeps ramping up to lower costs for customers

  • Revenue diversification is trending downward as companies dig deeper into their niches

“The teleport industry becomes more complex every year in terms of ownership, acquisition and competitive dynamics,” said executive director Robert Bell. “The Inside the Top Operators report allows us to see how the top performing companies are adapting to face the challenges of the changing conditions in our industry.”
